BUILDING TEMPLE BUILT

Help Build Something That Lasts

Temple Built is a faith-driven strength and community facility being built here in Dutchess County. We're creating a place where adults, parents, families, and future generations can pursue strength, discipline, stewardship, and community together.

THE FACILITY DOESN'T EXIST YET.
That's exactly why we're asking now.

If this sounds like something you want to be a part of when the doors open, join the Interest List.

No payment. No obligation. Just help us build something meaningful.

Journey

The story behind building TMPL.BLT from the ground up. Lessons learned through entrepreneurship, faith, discipline, leadership, stewardship, setbacks, and growth before the doors ever open.

A Beginner Again | 101126

I thought a few homework assignments with an unloaded bar would be easy. They gave me a lesson in learning, patience, and the joy of being a beginner again.

One building checked nearly every box. Another may be right, but I still cannot get the drawings and bids. Here is what the unfinished search for Temple Built's first home is teaching me.

The People Were Here First | 092726

Temple Built does not have an address yet, but the community around it is already beginning to form. Two conversations helped me see what I am responsible for building and what may never have been mine to manufacture.

DELOAD | Discipline Goes Both Directions | 092026

I thought deloads sounded like an excuse. Then years of training—and a frightening moment of sleep deprivation—forced me to reconsider what discipline actually means. Sometimes the work calls for another rep. Sometimes it calls for taking the plate off.

PLATE | You Don't Need a Different Truth. You Need a Different Plate | 091326

After tearing my rotator cuff, even an empty barbell was too much. The road back started with resistance bands, light dumbbells and five-second hangs—and taught me something I wish I'd understood much earlier: You don't get stronger by lifting the weight you remember. You get stronger by lifting the weight you're ready for today.

SPOT: Know When to Reach In | 082326

What two lifts with my son taught me about struggle, fatherhood, responsibility, and wisdom A few years ago, I was chasing a bench press PR. I'd been training heavy for a couple of months—mostly doubles and triples—and things were clicking. One morning in the garage, with my son Damian training alongside me, I loaded 345 pounds onto the bar. I'd actually already hit it once. Clean lift. The only problem? My phone had fallen over. Didn't record a second of it. So naturally,

CHALK: You Still Have to Hold the Bar | 081626

What a simple training tool taught me about strength, responsibility, brotherhood, and asking for help. Last summer, my sons and I were working out in the backyard. We were doing hex-bar carries. 275 pounds on the bar. Down a section of the yard, turn around, come back. The first trip was fine. On the second, my hands started sweating. About five steps in, I felt the handles begin to shift. Every little bounce from my steps made my fingers open slightly and readjust. Suddenly

LIFT— What Is Your Strength For? | 080926

For years, I believed strength was measured by the number on the bar. One lift taught me that wasn't the whole story. The older I get, the more I realize strength isn't the destination. It's preparation for the people and purposes God has entrusted to us.

The same rope bridges two chapters of life—a young Marine fighting upward on an obstacle course and an older coach reflecting before dawn inside a strength gym.

CLIMB | 080226

I used to believe climbing a rope was about strength. Years later, I realized the rope never changed. The process did. And that lesson has shaped my faith, my marriage, my leadership, and the way I'm building Temple Built.

The Carry — The Weight That Shapes a Man | 072626

There are some lessons that announce themselves the moment they happen. Others stay quiet for years. Sometimes decades. You live through the experience without realizing it has become part of who you are. Then one ordinary morning, when life slows down just enough, the lesson finally introduces itself. That happened to me recently. Not in a church. Not during a conversation. Not while reading Scripture. It happened in my driveway, carrying a 60-pound slam ball before sunrise.

Before They Call It Success | 071926

There is a strange thing about success. People almost always arrive after the work is finished. They celebrate the ribbon cutting. The grand opening. The championship. The promotion. The milestone. What they rarely see are the years that made those moments possible. The prayers no one heard. The sacrifices no one applauded. The uncertainty. The waiting. The ordinary Tuesdays. As I prepared to record Episode 20 of Built Not Found, I realized this lesson wasn't just true of bus

First In Faith. Then In Form. Before There Are Walls | 070526

Last weekend, I walked through an empty building. Concrete floors. Bare walls. Nothing finished. Nothing impressive. If you had walked through it with me, you probably would have seen exactly what most people see when they walk through an empty warehouse: Concrete. Bad lighting. A lot of work. A lot of money. A lot of risk. And honestly, all of those things are true. But somehow… I could already see it. I could see the rigs. The turf. The sauna. The prayer before Sa

The Man, Not the Numbers | 062026

One day, every trophy gets dusty. Every paycheck gets spent. Everything you own eventually ends up in someone else’s hands. That is not pessimism. It is reality. The older I get, the less impressed I am by things that disappear. Work matters. Providing matters. Training matters. I have given a large part of my life to all three. But much of what we spend our lives chasing comes with an expiration date: the promotion, the title, the personal record, the recognition, the applau

What Are You Building? | 061326

Everybody is building something. A body. A marriage. A family. A reputation. A career. A business. A life. Whether we realize it or not, every day we are laying another brick - making another decision, reinforcing another habit, moving in a particular direction. The question is not whether you are building. The question is whether you are building something you will be proud of when enough time has passed to see it clearly. I used to measure building differently A few years a

The Cost of Stewardship | 051626

For years, I thought stewardship was one of those words that sounded noble from a distance. Responsible. Virtuous. The kind of word people use in church or write into mission statements. What I did not fully understand was that stewardship has a cost. A real one. Because stewardship is not just a belief. It is not admiration for a good principle. It is responsibility expressed in action. It requires honesty, discipline, and a willingness to confront realities you would rather

Before It Exists: The Work Behind Building Temple Built | 030726

Most people only notice a thing once it is finished. They see the building when the lights are on. They see the result when it looks inevitable. They see the success after the hard part is over and the story has been cleaned up enough to tell. What they rarely see is the part that matters most: the early mornings, the uncertainty, the missed steps, the quiet corrections, and the small decisions that shape everything long before anyone is watching. That is the part that intere
